"From Blah to Ah-ha:

The Power of Laughter to Transform"

So you know how women over 40 have spent their lives taking care of others – their bosses, their significant others, and their parents? Many have burnt out. Countless women over 40 are exhausted, depressed and have lost their sense of who they are, their dreams, and their passions. They feel stuck in relationships, stuck in their careers, and then many are hit with a loss of a loved one, a job, or experience a financial calamity.

Some women lose their sense of hope and the joy they once had but don’t know how to recover.

As someone who was trained in improvisation at the acclaimed Second City in Chicago as well as spending a three-year stint as a grief counselor, Julie Ostrow learned to use the power of laughter to transform. She learned how to use improv and creativity to help people in grief find joy and the will to create an even better life for themselves.

Using techniques Julie learned from The Second City, she shows audiences how to be in the present moment, connect with others, and use the present to create possibilities of an enviable future.

As someone who survived losing her mom at a very young age, Julie spent years rediscovering the joy in life and even went on to become the First-Ever American Laughing Champion.
